Yes, having a piano or quality digital keyboard at home is essential for progress. Students need to practice between lessons. I can provide recommendations for suitable instruments based on your budget and space. A weighted 88-key digital piano is a great starting option.
The first lesson is a trial session where we get to know each other. If the student is just starting out, we use playful methods to get familiar with the piano and even learn our very first melody together. It's also a chance for parents to ask questions.
Yes, but primarily as a temporary option for current students who already have playing experience. For beginners, it is crucial to establish proper hand technique in person, and for children, face-to-face interaction is much more effective for engagement. Therefore, I generally recommend in-person lessons for a consistent learning foundation.
I ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Lessons cancelled with proper notice can be rescheduled. Last-minute cancellations or no-shows will be charged in full. I understand emergencies happen and handle those on a case-by-case basis.
